We regularly encounter plants from the Theaceae family blooming in local forests during the season. White or pink fragrant flowers, small or quite large, fall on the forest floor. But perhaps none of them can compare in their bright beauty with Polyspora. I had looked at photos of this plant more than once and read about it, but we had never encountered Polyspora huongiana in the wild, its habitat remained a mystery… But the stars aligned, and one day, on a walk near our house, the beautiful flowering of a small tea plant caught our attention: Polyspora, planted in the botanical garden of Bidoup Nui Ba, blossomed with large flowers of a rich color, with loose pollen scattered like gold.

This was the easiest way to see the beautiful endemic of Bidoup Nui Ba, named after the director of the National Park, who held that position at the time. Polyspora huongiana is available for all tourists visiting the botanical garden of the Park during the flowering season.
