With excellent camouflage, the large shells of these terrestrial mollusks are easier to notice when they are damaged and drawing attention with the white, empty interior of the spiral. Whole empty shells are rarer, and an even greater stroke of luck is encountering a live mollusk with a brown-orange color. After the rain, against the backdrop of bright mosses, the color of the shell, which provides protection to the mollusk among the fallen brownish leaves, looks even more striking. Its glossy surface reflects the surrounding colors.

The brown shells of Bertia setzeri, which are almost perfectly round in shape, not only have gigantic sizes for terrestrial snails (the average size of an adult is 70-75 mm in length and 78.6 mm in width), but are also distinguished by a left-handed twist. Described as a species relatively recently, in 2014, the terrestrial endemic snails Bertia setzeri inhabit a narrow range, where we regularly encounter them — in the Mossy Forest in the Giang Ly area.
